Hey! I’ve put together a “check list” of everything you need before you get started migrating your donations. Just follow the bullets below and when you’re ready, purchase a license for our tool. If you have any questions, just reach out to me using the chat box in the bottom left. I’m happy to answer any questions I can when I’m available.
- If you haven’t yet, import your people into Planning Center People. I highly recommend using the remote_id column on the people import tool they provide – it allows you to import use your old systems person identifier making it much faster and guaranteeing accuracy when using our tool. Click here to read about importing people.
- Ensure you’ve established and set up your Planning Center Giving Account.
- Make sure you’ve set up you’re funds and payment source – I recommend naming your payment source you’re old system so you know where the donations came from (e.g. FellowshipOne, Church Community Builder, Arena, etc…).
- Once you’ve done that, just export your contributions from your old system. If you need help exporting, we have some instructions for a couple different systems listed here. The fields that are required are:
- At least one identifier column (but we recommend all if possible).
- remote_id
- Email address
- Phone number
- First name
- Last name
- Fund
- Type (e.g. online, credit card, cash, check, etc…)
- Amount
- Date received
- Fee (optional)
- Campus (optional)
- Label (optional)
- Check number (optional)
- At least one identifier column (but we recommend all if possible).
- Download the PCO Giving Import Tool and then purchase a license.
- Head on over to the user guide for help on using our tool.
